Will Addison (22 July 1871 –  1940)

Will was the son of William and Selina Addison and grew up at 2 Old Cross Keys Yard, off Magdalene Street.   His father was a cabinet maker and his mother worked as a college bedmaker. After  his father died in 1885 he lived with his widowed mother (1891/1901) and trained as an upholsterer.  He married Elizabeth Hopwood in 1901 and the couple went to live at 3 Coe Fen Terrace (1911), 28 Owlstone Road (1930)  and later at 306 Cherry Hinton Road (1939).  They did not have any children of their own, but helped raised their niece Lillian Hopwood Wolfe (1903-1964).  Will died at home in 1940.

Elizabeth Jane Addison (née Hopwood) (29 August 1868 –  16 December 1957)

Elizabeth was the daughter of Walter and Mary Anne Hopwood.  Her father was a carpenter who died when she was 8 years old and Elizabeth then lived with her mother and sister Mary Anne at 16 Little St. Mary’s Lane.  By 1891 all three were college laundry workers. She married Will Addison when she was 33 years old and after being widowed went to live at 73 Glisson Road (at least 1945 onwards) with her niece Lillian. She died at Glisson Road aged 89 years old.
