Thomas Allen (1815 – 28 October 1881)

Thomas was born in Cambridgeshire.  In 1843 he appears to have been imprisoned for 3 months for larceny. In 1851 aged 36 he was living at 38 Hyde Park Corner [the nick name for the junction between Hills Road and Regent Street] and working as tailor and robemaker.  He was still working as a tailor in 1861, but by 1871 was living at 44 Regent Street and working as a wheelwrights man.  By 1881 he was living at 49 Regent Street and had returned to be a tailor.  He died aged 66 years in October 1881.

Jane Allen (1813 – 22 July 1897)

Jane was born in Haslingfield.  It is not known when she married Thomas, but she lived with him at Hyde Park Corner and later at 44 Regent Street and 49 Regent Street.  They did not have any children.  After the death of her husband she continued to live at 49 Regent Street and  worked as a lodging house keeper. She died in 1897 aged 84 years old.
