This stone cross, in the parish area of St Paul, is located a few rows east of the western path.

William English Beamiss (1827 – 31 May 1905)
Walter was born in Ely and baptised at St Mary’s Church in Ely on 17th July 1827. He was the son of local bootmaker Henry Beamiss and his wife Ann. Henry had a shop on the High Street in Ely and William grew up there. William followed his father and became a bootmaker.
He married Mary Allerson, and they had seven children together: Rebecca Ann [1854-1938], William Harold [1860-1949], Mary Anne [1862-1952], Flora [1865-1951], Ada [1868-1955], Ella [1872-1961], plus another child who died young.
The family lived in Ely, and all the children were born there. In 1881 however they were living at 30 Hills Road, then 58 Hills Road  and then 3 Norwich Street . He died at 42 Hills Road aged 77 years. He left an estate valued at £220 5s.
Mary Beamiss [nee Allerson] (1827 – 19 April 1916)
Mary was born in Little Downham and was baptised there on 28th October 1827. Her parents were John and Mary Allerson. Aged 23 in 1851 she was living in Westminster, London and working as a house servant for the Gram Family. She married William Beamiss and had seven children.
She was widowed aged 77 years old, and continued to live at 42 Hills Road. She died there in 1916 leaving an estate valued at £123 and 12s.
Flora Beamiss (11 September 1865 – 26 January 1951)
Flora was the fourth child of William and Mary Beamiss. She was born and grew up in Ely. Aged 15 she was living at 83 Russell Street with her sisters Rebecca and Mary Anne and was working as a pupil teacher. She worked as a school mistress and lived with her parents until they died. She then moved to 32 Glisson Road and lived with her sister Rebecca Buckwell. She died at Glisson Road aged 85 years old. She left an estate valued at £6,367 10s and 9d.
