Rev. William Edwin Beaumont (8 June 1854 – 18 November 1919)
William was born in Pudsey, Yorkshire. He was baptised at St Lawrence Church, Pudsey on 9th July 1854. He was the son of James and Hannah Beaumont and his father was a woollen cloth manufacturer.
He went to Downing College Cambridge in 1878, gained his BA in 1882 and his MA in 1885. At first he was a lawyer, and was admitted to the Inner Temple in 1879 aged 25 years. He was ordained a priest in 1882. He was Curate of All Saint’s Middlesborough 1881-83, Vicar of Holy Trinity, Stowupland, Suffolk 1887-8, Vicar of St Judes Chelsea 1888-90, Vicar of Highmore, Oxfordshire 1890-1893, Rector of Hartshorne Derbyshire 1893-97 and Vicar of St Mary’s, St Pancreas 1897-1908. He resigned from his last role due to ill-health.
He married Theresa Annie Jones in Liverpool in 1886. They had two daughters – Violet [1889-] and Monica Armitage [1892-1949]. After retiring he moved back to Cambridge and lived at 10 Scroope Terrace  and later at 42 Lensfield Road. He died at Lensfield Road aged 67 years. He left an estate valued at £2,419 3s, 1d
Theresa Annie Beaumont (nee Jones) (c1858 – 27 April 1919)
Theresa was born in Wavertree, Liverpool. She was baptised on 12th April 1858 at St Mary’s Church, Wavertree. Her parents were James and Elizabeth Jones. Her father was a rope maker and in 1861 was employing 53 men and 38 boys – so was certainly a pioneering entrepreneur. Aged 13 Theresa was at a boarding school in Cheshire. In 1881 she was back living with her parents at 56 Derwent Road, Liverpool. She married William Beaumont when she was 28 years old.
She died at 42 Lensfield Road aged 61 years old.
