Adelaide Bennett (née Gault) (9 June 1862 – 15 May 1929)
Adelaide was the daughter of Charles and Sarah and grew up at4 South Street (1871) and then 46 Gwydir Street (1881). Her father worked as a police constable (1871)and then as a railway servant (1881) and in 1881 18 year old Adelaide was a dressmaker. She married James Bennett later that year and they had four children: Arthur Charles (1883-1958), Louisa Helena (1885-), May (1891-1969) and Dorothy (1895-1940).
The family lived at 62 Gwydir Street (1891) and then 185 Mill Road (at leat 1901 onwards) and James worked as a tailor’s assistant (1891), tailor’s traveller (salesman) (1901) and tailor (1911). Adelaide died aged 66 years old.
James Richard Bennett (9 June 1859 22 Febuary 1933)
James was the son of James and Sarah (née Richardson) and grew up at 48 Fitzroy Street (1861/1871). His father worked as a smith’s labourer/hammerman and his mother as a shoe binder. In 1881 James was living with his parents and seven siblings at 21 Wellington Street and working as an assistant in a hosiery shop. He later worked as a tailor and died aged 73 years old.
