Bennett Family

Thomas and Gordon Bennett were the sons of Sampson Bennett [1866-1952] and Eva Bennett 1874-1966]. Both had been born in Cornwall and were the children of farmers in the same area of South Petherwin.  Samuel moved to Cambridge in order to train to be a vet under George Banham.  He was living at 15 Downing Street in 1891.  He married Eva Johns Jenkin in Cornwall in 1892 and they returned to Cambridge.  Samuel Bennett was a vet at 61 Jesus Lane for many years, eventually retiring out to  Great Abington [1939].

Samuel and Eva had seven children: Sampson Charles Jenkin [1894-1963], Thomas Ira [1897-1900], Eva Theresa [1899-1991], Marion Annie [1902-], Horace Claude [1904-1972], Gordon Arthur [1906-1909] and Margaret E [1914-].

Sampson Bennett died in Brighton in 1952 aged 86 years old.  Eva Bennett died in London in 1966 aged 92 years old.

Thomas died aged 3 years old.

 

Gordon Arthur Bennett (1906 – 29 September 1909)

Gordon died aged 3 years old.
