Joseph William Farrant Edwards (1858-1859)

Joseph was born on 15 December 1858 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.  He was the second of twelve children born to Richard Edwards (c.1837-1905) and Louisa Farrant Edwards (née Haws) (1839-1915).  Joseph died on 18 April 1859 at East Road, Cambridge, aged 4 months.

Inquest. – An inquest was holden on Monday, the 18th inst., at the George the Fourth, East-road, aged four months, who was found dead in bed by the side of his mother that morning.  From the evidence of Mr. Beck, surgeon, by whom a post mortem examination was made, it appeared that the whole of the left lung and base of the right lung were inflamed.  The child appeared well nourished, and there were no external marks of violence, and the cause of death was the inflamed state of the lungs.  Verdict, died from natural causes.

Cambridge Chronicle and Journal, Saturday, 23 April 1859

Four of Joseph’s six siblings, who survived infancy, were also buried in this cemetery: Elizabeth Farrant Driver (née Edwards) (1857-1926); Mary Ann Farrant Nixon (née Edwards) (1860-1921); Richard James Farrant Edwards (1866-1913); and Susanna Helena Farrant Matthews (née Edwards) (1870-1950).

 Sarah Louisa Farrant Edwards (1862-1863)

Sarah was born on 18 June 1862 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.  She was the fourth of twelve children born to Richard Edwards (c.1837-1905) and Louisa Farrant Edwards (née Haws) (1839-1915).  Sarah died on 18 June 1863 at East Road, Cambridge, aged exactly 1 year.

Louisa was born on 25 November 1868 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.  She died on 17 January 1870 in Cambridge, aged 1 year.

Rosina Jane Farrant Edwards (1871-1878)

Rosina was born on 6 December 1871 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.  She died on 20 November 1878 at Fitzroy Street, Cambridge, aged 6 years.

Arthur Frederick Farrant Edwards (1873-1876)

Arthur was born on 17 May 1873 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.  He died on 25 April 1876 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, aged 2 years.

Lilias Ada Farrant Edwards (1875-1875)

Grace was born in late 1908 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.  She was the eldest of three daughters born to Lewis Cartwright Bennett (1887-1960) and Rose Margaret Bennett (née Nixon) (1888-1920).  Grace’s maternal great grandparents were Richard Edwards (c.1837-1905) and Louisa Farrant Edwards (née Haws) (1839-1915).  Therefore, the other children buried in this grave were Grace’s great uncles and great aunts.  Grace died on 31 January 1910 (not 1911) at 93 Fitzroy St, Cambridge.
