Monument On the northern edge of the parish half way between the west and central paths. The headstone has fallen outside the kerbs and the inscription is now barely visible.

Maud Mary Berry [nee Woods]  (7 November 1884 – 1 February1947)

Maud was bornin Cambridge and was the daughter of Henry and Harriet Woods. She grew up on Fitzroy Street, where her father was a confectioner.  By the time she was 17 in 1901 the family were living at 3 North Terrace, and Henry Woods had branched out to become a mineral water manufacturer and confectioner.  Maud married Frederick George Berry in 1910.

They had at least one child Stanley James [1910-2002] and lived initially at 18 Granchester Street, before moving to 39 Granchester Street.  Maud died there on 1st February 1947 aged 62 years.

 

Frederick George Berry (13 March 1882 – 20 October 1962)

Frederick was the son of David and Sarah Berry. He grew up on Perowne Street, and his father was a cabinet maker.  Frederick became a monochrome keyboard compositor. He was widowed aged 64 years old in 1947, and remarried again in 1957 to Winnie Baker [1896 – 1971].  He died in 1962 and was buried with his first wife Maud.
