Aged 77 years

William Bodger (1819 – 1 October 1896)

William was born in Cambridge and worked as a hosiery assistant to William Warwicker (1790-1861) from at least 1841 onwards.  The shop was based at Trinity Street, and after William’s death in October 1861, William Bodger worked for his widow Jane.  In 1881 the business reported 4 shopmen and one porter.  After Jane Warwicker retired, she lidve at Trinity Street with William Bodger and a companion Ann Marshall. In 1881 Wiliam was described as a retired hosier. Jane died in January 1893 and William then lived at 12 Sidney Street where he died aged 77 years old.
