Ann Bowd (née Swann) ( 1855 – 2 September 1886)
Annie was the daughter of John George Langhorn and Cecilia Swann,. Her father was a brick and lime merchant and also a publican. She grew up at the Hare and Hounds, 41 Sun Street with her brothers who included Edward , Albert , Henry and Frederick Swann. Her father died in 1866 and her mother Cecilia took over the business and was employing ten men and three boys in 1871. At this point Annie was still living at home and working as a pupil teacher.
She married Robert William Bowd (1854-1945) at Christ Church, Cambridge on 30 March 1880. They had at least four children: Cecilia Ann (1881-1887),Robert Leonard Swann (1882-1887), George Joseph (1884-1884) and Frederick William (1885-1971). Robert was an ironmonger and the couple were living at 111 and 112 Fitzroy Street (1881). Annie died at 16 Pulling Terrace, Mill Road aged 31 years old.
George Joseph Bowd (1883 – 17 August 1884)
George died at Pulling Terrace aged 8 months old.
Robert Leonard Swann Bowd (11 May 1882 – 4 April 1887)
Robert died at 16 Ainsworth Street aged 4 years old.
Cecilia Ann Bowd (23 February 1881- 9 April 1887)
Cecilia died at 16 Ainsworth Street aged 6 years old.
Robert William Bowd and his son Frederick moved away from Cambridge and he married Annie Maria Egelstaff (1863-1950) on 11 April 1888 in Gloucestershire. They then moved to Brisbane, Australia where Robert died in February 1945 aged 91 years old.
