Ellen Bunting (née Colwell)(1858 – 26 February 1926)
Ellen was the daughter of tailor John Colwell and his wife Emma. She was baptised on 16 January 1859 and grew up at Thompson’s Yard (1871). Ellen married Robert Bunting on 8 February 1880 at St. Clement’s Church and they had six children: Lily (1881-1954), Charles (1883-1953), Delia (1887-1970), Alfred (1891-1894), Arthur (1901-1987) and another child who died as an infant. Robert worked on the railway and the family lived at 19 York Terrace (1881), 34 Great Eastern Street (1891) and then 13 Covent Garden (1901 onwards). In 1901 and 1911 Ellen was documented as being a college servant.
Robert Bunting (1855 – 27 August 1937)
Robert was the son of Charles and Mary and was born in Heacham. He was baptised in Heacham on 5 January 1856 and his father worked as an agricultural labourer. Robert worked as a shunter on the railway (1881) and later as a railway goods guard. He died in 1937 in Cambridge.
