Relationship: two sisters and their brother in law

Agatha Edwards (1876 – 3 April 1923)

Agatha was the daughter of Maurice and Sophia (née Gilby) and was born in Balsham.  Maurice was a maltster and the family lived at Worsted Lodge, Balsham. Agatha worked as a domestic servant at 22 New Square, Cambridge (1891) and Quy Hall, Stow cum Quy (1901) before returning to live with her parents in Balsham (1911).  She died at 22 Romsey Road aged 47 years old.

Rose Annie Edwards (1878 – 5 October 1929)

Rose was Agatha’s younger sister and was also born in Balsham. She also worked as a domestic servant in Cambridge (1891), The Rectory,  Downham Market (1901) and was then a cook to the Pohlmann family in Beckenham, Kent (1911).  It is believed she retired to live at 22 Romsey Road and died there aged 51 years old.

Samuel Buttress (25 September 1887 – 1 January 1961)

Samuel was the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Buttress and grew up in Chesterton. His father worked as a college servant and Samuel was a railway clerk  . He married Ethel Harriet Edwards (1895-1977) in 1922 and they lived at Gilby, 151 Coleridge Road.  Samuel died on New Years Day 1961 at Chesterton Hospital aged 73 years.
