Elizabeth Sarah Rash (1855 – 22 August 1874)

Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of John and Sophia Rash. She grew up on New Street and died there aged 19 years old.

Sophia Carder Rash (née Turner) (1822 – 23 February 1882)

Sophia was born in Stapleford and baptised there on 17 May 1822. She was the daughter of William and Sarah (née Carder) Turner. Her father died when she was 14 years old, and in 1841 Sophia was living and presumably working for grocer Sarah Robinson in the village of Stapleford.  She married John Rash in 1852 and they had at least three children: Elizabeth Sarah, Magaret Anne (1858-1948) and Sophia Mary (1862-1927).

John worked as a labourer (1861) and later as a cowkeeper/dairyman (1871/1881) and the family lived at 59 New Street (1861/1871) and then at 42 Gold Street (1881). Sophia died aged 59 years old.

John Rash (1827 – 15 February 1883)

John was born in West Wratting, a village ten miles south east of Cambridge and was the son of Richard and Elizabeth. His father was an agricutural labourer and by 1851 John had moved to Cambridge and was also working as an agricultual labourer. He died at Gold Street aged 56 years old.
