James Careless (1795-1875) was the Fellows’ Butler at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge in the 1850s and 1860s. Ann was his wife, Charles Henry and Louisa two of the couple’s children.
George Smith (1799-1861) was a porter and gardener at King’s College, Cambridge; Mary was his wife, Emily Cater their daughter, and Laura Amelia their grand daughter.
William Pegler (1814-76) was Chapel Clerk of King’s College between 1857 and 1876. He was twice married, and had ten children.
William Warren Haggis (1827-60) was a cook in one of the Cambridge University colleges; Henry Samuel Haggis was probably his brother; he died in Australia.
