Henry Everett Christian (1862 – 14 July 1920)
Henry was born at Barking in Suffolk, which is just outside Needham Market. He was the son of Henry and Jane Christian and his father Henry was the gardener at Barking Hall. In 1881, Henry (Jnr) was 18 years old and working as an apprentice carpenter. He married Catherine White in 1885. They had five children: Henry Everett (1886-), Percy George (1888-), John Basil (1889-1971), Winifred Kate (1895-1917) and Sidney Frank (1900-1991).
The family moved to live in Cambridge where Henry worked as a carpenter. In 1901 were living at 47 Argyle Street, and then at 44 Perowne Street (1911) and 199 Mill Road (at least 1916 onwards). Henry died at Mill Road aged 58 years old
Catherine Christian (née White) (22 April 1861 – 7 June 1948)
Catherine was the daughter of bricklayer Samuel White and his wife Sarah. She was born and raised in Dedham, and baptised at St Mary’s Church on 30 June 1861. In 1881 she was 20 years old and working in Colchester as cook to Francis and Frances Howard. She married Henry Christian in 1885.
After she was widowed Catherine went to live at 6 Seymour Street, and was living on her own there in 1939. She died aged 87 years old.
Winifred (Winnie) Kate Christian (1895 – 7 January 1917)
Winnie was born in Cambridge but was baptised at St Mary’s Church in Dedham on 2 August 1896. She died at 199 Mill Road aged 21.
