Henry George Clark (1860 – 8 January  1894)

Henry was the eldest child of George Francis Clark (1837-1892) and Elizabeth (née Osborne) (1836-). HIs father was a police officer and he grew up at 4 Portland Place (1861) and  Gwydir Street (at least 1871-1883). Aged 20 Henry was working as a ‘railway clearing house clerk‘.

He married Elizabeth Austin on 23 August 1883 at St. Luke’s Church, Chesterton and they had five children: Robet George (1885-1942), Mabel Elizabeth Maria (1886-1973), Alice Mary (1888-1972), Oliver Arthur Francis (1889-1973) and Eric Alfred Herbert (1892-1972). They lived at Victoria Road (1891) and then Gwydir Street. Henry died at home aged 33 years old.

Elizabeth Clark (née Austin) (1863 – 12 April 1931)

Elizabeth was born in Chesterton and grew up on Victoria Road. She was the daughter of boot closer Robert Manby Austin (1832-1894) and his wife Maria (née Blandford) (1832-1921) and was baptised on 14 June 1863. Before marrying Henry Clark she worked as a domestic servant and after his death worked as a college laundress. She lived at 226 Victoria Road (at least 1901 onwards) and employed others to help her with the laundry business. Elizabeth died at Addenbrookes Hospital aged 67 years old.
