Jane Clark (née Smith) (c.1838 – 23 June 1899)
Jane was born in Soham and married carpenter John Clark in 1865. The couple first lived in Elm Street, and in 1871 Jane was working as a dressmaker. The couple later had two sons: Ernest John (1873-1955) and Jesse Smith (1875-1921) and 1891 they had moved to live at 25 Prospect Row. Jane died aged 61 years old.
John Leverage Clark (1838 – 30 October 1924)
John was born in Soham and was the son of John and Charlotte (née Leverage) Clark. His father worked as an agricultural labourer, and by the age of 23 John was working as a carpenter. After being widowed he married Hannah Sophia Howe (1854-1907). Hannah was a spinster, who had been working as a domestic servant prior to marriage. In 1901 the couple were living at 25 Prospect Row. Hannah died in 1907 aged 53 years old. John continued to live at Prospect Row, and in 1911 was living there with widow Jane Eaton as his housekeeper – he was no longer working at this point. He died at home aged 86 years old.
