Ann Collear (née Scoffield) (c.1775 – 8 February 1851)

Ann was born in Cambridge and married George Collear (1773-) at St. Andrew the Great Church on 22 March 1809.  They had at least two children: George (1812-1833) and Mary Ann Twitchett (1819-1886). Ann worked at Emmanuel College as a college servant  and by 1841 was a widow and living with her daughter and son-in-law Benjamin Langton at Downing Street.

Ann died aged 75 years old and the announcement of her death in local newspapers read that she was ‘sixty years a faithful and respected servant of Emmanuel College.

George Collear (c.1812 – June 1833)

George was the son of George and Ann and was baptised at St. Andrew the Great Church on 19 December 1813.  He died aged 21 and was buried on 7 June 1833.
