Sarah Ann (Ann)  Cornell (née Woollard) (1861 – 16 December 1925)

Ann was born in Reach, Cambridgeshire and was the daughter of William and Susan. She grew up in the village where her father was an agricultual labourer, but by the age of 20 was working as a cook for Charles Smerdon Roe at 7 Market Hill. Ann married George Cornell in 1882 and they had three children: Susan Martha (1883-1978), Charles William (1885-) and Amy Eliza (1888-1983). George worked as a railway carman (delivery driver) and they lived at 96 Argyle Street, where Ann died aged 64 years old.

Frederick George (George)  Cornell  (6 November 1858 – 22 June 1940)

George was born in Cherry Hinton and baptised there on 26 June 1859. He was the son of Charles and Martha and grew up on the High Street in Cherry Hinton. His father was a groom, his mother a laundress and by the age of 22 George was working on the railway. In 1939 he was living at 50 Great Eastern Street and was documented as being a ‘retired railway servant horse waggon driver’. He died at home and his funeral took place on 24 June.
