Sarah Maud Cottrell [nee Skeet] (c.1841 – 23 April 1875)

Sarah was the daughter of Edgar and Elizabeth Skeet, she was born in Baddington in Suffolk.  Her father was a railway station clerk, and she grew up at the Railway Station House at Great Fransham in Norfolk.  She married Joel Cottrell in Great Fransham on 21st July 1864, when she was 23 years old.

Joel worked for the Great Eastern Railway as an auditor, and the family moved to Cambridge where their three children were born: Francis Skeet [1868-1948], Gertrude Maude [1871-] and Alfred Edgar [1874-1945]. Sarah died aged 34 years old, leaving Joel with three young children aged 7, 4 and 1 years old.
