‘Andrew Craik BA
Scholar at Emmanuel College Cambridge
born Airlie Dec 18 1847 died in College June 1 1874’
Andrew Craik (1847-1874)
Andrew Craik was admitted to Emmanuel College from Aberdeen University on 17 October 1870; he was initially a ‘pensioner’, later a scholar. He read mathematics, graduating as 4th Wrangler in January 1874. His early death sadly occurred less than six months later; his illness incurred a large apothecary’s bill of £4 10s 6d, and the cause of death is recorded as ‘perforated bowel’. Nothing more is known of him.
