This monument is half hidden under trees and bushes. Not all the inscription is visible.  We know from the Parish burial register that Mildred Dean is also buried in the grave.

Elizabeth Hannah Dean (c.1869 – 31 October 1910)

Elizabeth was born in Ispwich but little is known of her early life, nor when she married William Dean.  They had six children: Mildred Ethel (1890-1943), Ann Audrey (1891-1951), Emily Elizabeth (1894-1983), William James Pilgrim (1896-1900), Arthur Frank (1897-1993) and Phoebe May Pilgrim (1901-1995).  William was a carpenter, and the family lived at 3 Gloucester Place (1891) and then at 17 Albert Street (1901). Elizabeth died aged 41 years old.

William Dean (c.1868 – 4 April 1932)

William was born in West Wratting, but his family moved to Great Wilbraham when he was very young.   His parents were Arthur and Ann Dean, and Arthur was a domestic coachman.  Aged 13 William was working as an agricultural labourer, although he later became a carpenter.  In 1911 he was living at 39 Fitzroy Street with his five children. He died in 1932

William James Pilgrim Dean (1896 – 6 February 1900)

William was the eldest son of William and Elizabeth and died aged 3 years old.

Mildred Ethel Dean (10 November 1890 – 10 November 1843)

Mildred was the eldest child of William and Elizabeth.  In 1939 she was living at 77 Fitzroy Street with sisters Phoebe and Ann and was documented as being a housekeeper. She died at Fitzroy Street on her 53rd birthday.

Ann Audrey Dean (23 December 1891 –  18 October 1951)

Ann was the second child of William and Elizabeth; aged 19 was working as a dressmaker and living at Fitzroy Street with her father and siblings. In 1939 she was living at 77 Fitzroy Street working as a dressmaker.  She died at Fitzroy Street aged 59 years old.
