Sarah Grant Dennington (née Northrop) (1847 – 13 April 1905)
Sarah was born in Harston and baptised there on 11 July 1847. She was the daughter of labourer Richard and his wife Rebecca and married James John Grant (1849-1875) in 1870. James was a coprolite digger and the couple lived in the village of Haslingfield. They had at least one daughter Emma (1874-1928) before James died in 1875 aged 26 years old.
In 1881 Sarah was working as an SMS nurse (subsidiary medical services) and living at 1 Manor Street (an SMS nurse was a nurse with no training or formal qualifications). Daughter Emma meanwhile had been sent to live with her grandparents in Harston. Sarah then married widower George Dennington (1826-1906) on 5 November 1886. George was a coal dealer, and they lived at 9 Norfolk Street (1901) and then 9 Blossom Street. Sarah died at home aged 59 years old.
Charlotte Hunter (1873 – 1 March 1909)
Charlotte died at Grafton Street aged 35 years old.
