Ruth Driver [nee Banks]  (1855 – 26 December 1898)

Ruth was born in Fen Ditton and was the daughter of Peter and Sarah Banks.  Peter Banks was a labourer in an Iron Foundry and Ruth grew up in Fen Ditton.

She married Alfred Driver in 1872 when she was 16 years old.   They had at least 11 children together: Charles Henry [1873-1947], Ruth [1875-1953], Emily [1879-1880], Mary Ann [1881-], Alfred [1883-1917], Henry [1886-1969], Jane [1888-], Thomas [1890-], Jack [1895-1983], William [1897-1966] and Hannah Grace [1898-]

The family lived at 28 Coronation Street – Alfred was a railway servant, and Ruth was a grocer.  She died aged 42 years old at home, and left an estate valued at £79 4s.

 

Percy Frederick Thomas Maskall (1878 – 10 March 1935)

Percy was the son of John and Harriet Maskall.  John was a blacksmith and publican and ran a pub at 49 & 50 Cambridge Place.  He died when Percy was a year old.  Harriet moved with her seven children to 20 George the 4th Street, and worked as a charwoman.  She died in 1885, so aged 7 Percy was an orphan.  In 1891 he was living with his brother John and sister Minnie at 13 Hartington Terrace.

He married Ruth Driver, the daughter of Ruth and Alfred Driver in 1900.  They had two children together  John [1900-1947] and Nora. Percy worked as a hairdresser, and the family lived at 26 Coronation Street.  He died aged 57 years.

 

Nora Maskall (1902 – March 1918)

Nora was the daughter of Percy and Ruth Maskall.  She appears on the 1911 census, living at 26 Coronation Street. She died aged 16 years.

 

Percy and Ruth’s son John Maskall died in February 1947 aged 46 years old.  He lived at 1 Elfleda Road, Cambridge.

Ruth Driver outlived her husband and both of her children.  She worked as a daily help, and lived at 3 Lovell Road and later at 5 Russell Place, Russell Street.  She died at Addenbrookes Hospital on 17th October 1953 at the age of 78 years old.
