“Always Remembered”

Relationship – Cousins

Fritz Eugene Onesime Fenn (20 June 1887 – 25 June 1912)

Fritz was the son of Robert and Marthe Fenn. Marthe was Swiss, which perhaps explains his exotic name, however his siblings were given the more conventional names of Robert (1885-1951) and Clementine Muriel (1898-1974).

Aged 14 Fritz was living at the Great Northern Railway Station in Cambridge where his father was the station master.  He is down on the census as a ‘college chorister’. In 1910 he was living at Selwyn College, and was still there in 1911 where he was noted as a college clerk.  He died in Marylebone in June 1912, days after his 25th birthday.

Edith Amelia Horne (1884-1967)

Edith was the daughter of John and Matilda Fenn and granddaughter of Robert and  Mary Fenn. She was brought up in Prospect Row and attended East Road infant’s school in 1890. There is some confusion as to her birth date which is given as 1883, 3rd quarter, on the national register and 12th May 1883 school register.  She was baptised on August 31st 1884.
We have found a possible  marriage for Edith in Colchester to a William Horne and an Edith A Horne died in Camberwell in  December 1967.
