Edward Flood (25 February 1876 – 1 January 1945)

Edward was the son of George and Susan (née Amps) and grew up at 23 Bradmore Street. His father was a general labourer and aged 15, Edward was working as an errand boy. George Flood died in 1896 and in 1901 Edward was living with his widowed mother and siblings at 12 St. Matthew’s Court. By this time he was working as a baker and married Catherine Vail in 1902. They had one son: Rev. Claude Edward (1908-1986). The family lived at 16 Ainsworth Street (1911) and later at 37 Sturton Street (1939). Edward died at Sturton Street and his funeral took place on 8 January.

Catherine Flood (née Vail) (4 November 1872 – 28 March 1967)

Catherine was born in Great Abington and baptised there on 18 November 1872. She was the daughter of Henry and Hannah (née Andrews) Vail and grew up at  Ainsworth Street. Henry was a bricklayer who died in April 1889 when Catherine was 16 years old. In 1901 she was living at 10 Ainsworth Street and working as a laundress together with her mother and two younger sisters, Florence and Alice. Catherine died at The Vicarage, Woodditton where her son was vicar.
