This set of kerb stones are located on the first row east of the parish area of St Michael’s, 2 plots south of the west/east path from the centre circle. The stones are intact and the inscription of metal letters still legible, although worn.

In Loving Memory of MABEL CLARA GREEN died Nov 20 1930 . Aged 21 years.

Mabel Clara Green (1909 – 20 November 1930)

Mabel was the only daughter of Edward Charles and Florence Mabel Green.  She had four much older brothers, and was born in Colchester.  She was baptised at All Saint’s Church in Colchester on 2nd June 1909.

In 1911 she was one year old, and living with her family at 18 East Stockwell Street in Colchester. Her father Edward was a brewery manager. Her mother died in Colchester in 1915 and her father remarried in 1916.  In 1930 Mabel was living at 71 Glisson Road with her father Edward and stepmother Dorothy Maud Green née Green.

Mabel died in November 1930 aged 21 years old.
