Charles George Griffinhoofe (1827 – 14 November 1857)
Charles was the fourth child born to the Reverend Thomas Sparkes Griffenhoofe and his wife Harriet. Thomas Griffenhoofe was the vicar of Arkesden, near Saffron Walden from 1811 to 1859. Charles was baptised at St Mary the Virgin Church in Arkesden on 8 October 1827.
He married Susannah Hunter (1829-1922) at Holy Trinity, Gray’s Inn Road on 4 October 1853. Their only son (Rev.) Charles George was born in Cambridge on 3 November 1857. Charles Griffenhoofe died when his son was 11 days old. He died at his home – 16 Hills Road, aged just 30 years old.
