John Thomas Harvey (29 April 1841 – 3 March 1882)

John was born in Mersham, Surrey and baptised there on 18 May 1841.  He was the son of Thomas James Harvey and Emma. He married Susan (1842-) and the couple had at least two children: Cotton (1867-1945) and Emma.   Son Cotton was born in Eltham, Kent, and when he was baptised in 1867 John was working as a gentleman’s servant.  By 1871 the family were living in London where John ran a confectionery/tobacconist shop.   In 1881 he was living on Victoria Road, Cambridge and was working as a letter carrier.  The census documents him as being married, but Susan was not living with him.  John died at Falcon’s Yard aged 42 years old.

Emma Harvey

Emma was the daughter of John and Susan Harvey.

Emma Harvey (née Andrew) (1822 – 20 July 1889)

Emma was born in Sandbridge, Hertfordshire, a village between St. Alban’s and Wheathampstead.  She married Thomas James Harvey and they had at least one son.  By 1861 Emma was a widow, working as a college servant and living at 3 Wray’s Court off Sidney Street.  She died at Wray’s court aged 67 years old.
