Corporal Herbert James Haynes (1895–1918), Corporal (325307) in the 1st Battalion the Cambridgeshire Regiment formerly No. 1687 of the Cambridgeshire Regiment, was killed in action in France on 28 August 1918.

Herbert was born in 1895 in Cambridge. He was the youngest of the eight children born to James Haynes and Elizabeth Haynes (née Westwood). Herbert was an assistant horticultural builder before the War. He enlisted in the 1st Battalion Cambridgeshire Regiment and rose to the rank of Corporal. He was killed in action on 28 August 1918 in France. Herbert was entitled to the Victory medal and the British War medal.
