Thomas Huckell (1872 – 31 July 1935)
Thomas was born and raised in Willingham and was the son of James and Frances Ann (née Brown). Aged 19 he was lodging at 55 Burleigh Street with his half-sister Augusta Love (née Brown) and her family and working as a baker. He married Mary Coy in 1892 and they had three children: George Henry (1897-1958), Frederick Thomas (1899-1899) and Elizabeth May (1904-). In 1901 the family were living at 21 King Street with Thomas’ mother Frances, and he was documented as a baker/confectioner. By 1911 Thomas had changed career and was a college porter – the family were living at 8 Christ’s Lane at this time. They later lived at 16 George Street (at least 1916-1928) and then Penarth, 62 Cambridge Road, Impington. Thomas died at Addenbrooke’s Hospital aged 63 years old and his funeral took place on 3 August 1935.
Mary Elizabeth Huckell (née Coy) (9 October 1870 – 10 June 1954)
Mary was born in Stretham and grew up at Green End with her parents John and Elizabeth (née Murfitt). John Coy was an agricultural labourer, and her parents had both died by the time she was 13 years old. After she was widowed she lived with her son George at Impington. She died aged 83 years old, her son George died four years later and he was still resident at Cambridge Road when he died.
