John Hunt (1852 – 9 June 1927)

John was the son of John and Caroline Hunt.  Aged 19 he was living at 73 East Road with his parents and siblings and working as a general labourer. He married Alice Northfield in 1883 and they had twelve children: Mabel Elizabeth (1884-1943), John Frederick (1885-1970), William (1889-), Joseph (1891-1934), Charles (1892-1904), Ethel (1895-), Nellie Beatrice (1900-1985), Arthur Ernest (1904-1966) and a further four children who died as infants.  They lived at 25 New Street (1891) before settling at 6 Walton Terrace, East Road (at least 1901 onwards) and John eventually became a labourer at the water works.  He died aged 75 years old.

Alice Hunt (née Northfield) (1863 – 22 May 1935)

Alice was the daughter of John and Sarah Northfield and was baptised at the Primitive Methodist Chapel in Cambridge on 16 December 1863.  John died in 1870, and Alice then grew up with her widowed mother and seven siblings at Custom Street (1871) and then at 104 New Street (1881). Just prior to marriage she was working as a nursemaid.  She died aged 71 years old.
