Emily Kate Jeeves (née Hurt) (1863 – 9 June 1931)
Emily was born in Ossington, a village seven miles north of Newark-on-Trent, Nottingham and was the daughter of William and Mary. William was a gamekeeper and aged 18 Emily was working as a housemaid for grocer George Hart at 35 Stodman Street, Newark-on-Trent. She married Harry Jeeves in Cambridgeshire in 1889 and they had two children: Ellen Mary Gladys (1889-1969) and Harry Ethelbert (1890-1972). Harry worked as a college gyp (servant) at Downing college and they lived at 101 Norwich Street. Emily died at home and her funeral took place on 12 June 1931.
Harry Jeeves (4 February 1863 – 12 April 1942)
Harry was born in Bedford and baptised there on 31 March 1862. He was the son of coachman George (1843-1899) and Elizabeth (née Goodman) (1842-1911). In 1939 Harry was still living at 101 Norwich Street with daughter Ellen and was still documented as being a college gyp. He died at home aged 79 years old.
