Inscription
Margaret Annie Johnson (née Robinson) (1881 – 8 October 1924)
Margaret was born in Horningsea and was the daughter of Moses and Mary Ann. She grew up on the High Street in Horningsea, and both her parents worked as agricultural labourers. By the age of 19 (1901) Margaret was living with her aunt Martha Scott at 38 Gold Street, Cambridge. Martha was a cow keeper, so Margaret may well have been assisting in her aunt’s milk business.
She married Herbert Robert Johnson (1879-1976) on 16 July 1908 and the couple went to live at 15 Riverside (1911) and then 10 Magrath Avenue (at least 1916 onwards). Herbert was a grocery shop assistant who served in the 1st world war. Margaret died at Magrath Avenue aged 43 years old.
Herbert married for a second time in 1928 to Ethel Sarah Louisa Worts (1883-1969). They lived in Cambridge until at least 1966 but then moved to live in Wales.
