Charles John Juler (1847 – 13 September 1894)

Charles  was the son of Charles and Sarah Juler, and appears to have been known as John throughout his life.  He was baptised in Great Shelford on 11 July 1847. John grew up on New Street, and his father worked as a labourer. By the time he was 14 years old his family had moved to live at 4 Plantation Row (1861) and John was working as a porter. By the age of 24 he had left the family home and was lodging at 8 Kettle’s Yard, and was working as a baker. He married Sarah Brown at St Andrew the Great Church on 30 June 1875. They had four sons: Percy Charles (1877-1952), Arthur John (1880-1930), Harry Vincent (1881-1960) and Frederick Harold (1884-1971).

The couple lived at 36 Norfolk Street (1881) and then at 65 Norfolk Street where Charles was a baker and grocer.  He died at home aged 47 years old.

Sarah Charlotte Juler (née Brown) (c.1847 – 27 September 1913)

Sarah was the daughter of Jermyn and Sarah Brown.  Her father was a bookbinder and her mother a college bedmaker, she grew up at 7 Victoria Street.  By the age of 24 (1871) Sarah was working as a mantle maker.  She married John Juler aged c.28 years old.

After being widowed she continued to run the grocery at 65 Norfolk Street and died there aged 66 years old.
