Mary Ann Rawlinson (née Runham) (1822 – 25 November  1901)

Mary was born in Cambidge and married Abraham Rawlinson (1826-) on 29 August 1847 at St. John’s Church, Hackney.  It is believed she was illegitimate as the name of her father was left blank on the marriage certificate. Abraham was a carpenter and they lived in Shoreditch, where they raised their niece Rebecca Curtis (1851) before moving to live in Islington (1861/1871). It is thought Abraham died in 1888 and by 1891 Mary was working as a cook at 48 Albion Grove, Islington for the Ilingsworth family.  She died at 2 Abbey Street, Cambridge and her funeral took place on 29 November.

Emily Ann Laughton (12 July 1854 – 18 January  1942)

Emily grew up at 218 Newmarket Road with her parents William and Ann (née Rowell). William (1830-1914) was a tailor and by 1871 the family had moved to 62 New Street. In 1891 Emily was living with her parents and siblings at 19 James Street, and was still there in 1911 with her father and brother Edward. By 1911 she was working as a dressmaker. In 1939 she was living at Newmarket Road and died there aged 87 years old.

It is not known what the connection between the two women was.
