Reginald Arthur Lister (1873 – 23 March 1890)
Reginald was the son of George and Mary Jane (née Gracey) Lister. He was born in Cambridge where his father ran Lindum House boarding school at 70 Bridge Street. His mother died in November 1874 when he was 18 months old, and his father remarried fellow school teacher Susannah Ridley in 1876. They advertised extensively in local newspapers times and a typical advert from 1894 read: ‘Mr. and Mrs. Lister, Lindum House, Cambridge, receive day pupils and boarders (little boys) to prepare for Public Schools. Thorough English grounding, Elementary Latin, French, Music and Drawing’. Reginald died at Lindum House aged 16 years old.
