Harry Mason (1850-1897)

Harry was born in Fulbourn to William and Martha Mason and grew up at White Court, Coronation Street (1851) and 3 Downing Place (1861/1871).  William Mason was a cordwainer/bootmaker and Harry worked  as a printer (1871) before later becoming a letter carrier/postman. He married Maria Swan at St. Giles’ Church on 5 August 1875 and they had at least two children: Bessie Harriett Martha (1876-1960) and Percy Harry (1880-1963).  The family lived at 39 Eden Street (1881) and 33 Thompson’s Lane (at least 1891 onwards) where Harry died aged 46 years old.

Maria Ann Mason (née Swan)  (c.1853 – 17 February  1916)

Maria was the daughter of George and Harriet and grew up at 45 Northampton Street (1871). Her father was a labourer, her mother a college servant and aged 19 Maria was working as a hatter’s assistant. She died at 11 Green Street and was buried at Mill Road Cemetery on 24 February.
