Charlotte Mary Masters (née Dimmock) (1843 – 7 January  1911)

Charlotte was the daughter of James and Jane and grew up on Sidney Street where her father had a perfume, hairdressing and print shop (1851). She was baptised at All Saints’ Church on 28 July 1844. By  1861 the shop had moved to 6 Market Street and Charlotte was living at home with her parents.  She married Joseph Masters on 3 April 1866 in South Hackney and the couple had at least thirteen children: James Bertie (1866-1940), Frank Horatio (1868-1943), Alice Eleanor (1869-1946),  Edith Maud (1870-1951), Robert Joseph (1872-1949), Annie Gertrude (1875-1956), George Augustus (1877-1951), Clara Constance (1878-1952), Kate Florence (1881-1970), Charlotte Mary (1882-), Mabel Elizabeth (1883-1958), Arthur Richard Dimmock (1885-1966) and Harry Alfred (1887-1915).

The family lived at  4 Eastbourne Terrace, 93 Hills Road  and Joseph worked as an organist, poor rate collector and insurance agent.  Charlotte died aged 67 years old.

Joseph Henry Masters (1 October 1838 – 13 October 1924)

Joseph was the eldest son of James and Mary Ann (née Richardson) and grew up on Jesus Lane. His father was a butcher/publican and later a cow keeper/milkman.  Aged 23 Joseph was lodging in West Tofts, Norfolk and working as an organist (1861).  He married Charlotte Dimmock when he was 27 years old.

After he was widowed he lived at 93 Hills Road with daughters Annie and Mabel (1911) and died at home aged 86 years old.
