Francis Mizon (c.1854 – 11 November 1896)
Francis was born in Haverhill. He married Emma Mary Ann Bolton in 1879 when he was 25 years old. Emma and Francis lived in Islington, where he worked as an insurance agent. In1881 they were living at 5 Bolton Villas. They had seven children together: Maud Bolton [1889-1956], Lilian Ward [1891-1984], George Harold Francis [1894-1987] and a further four children who died as infants. Francis died aged 42 years old in 1896. His residence at the time was 39 Ambler Road in Finsbury Park, but died at Northumberland House, Green Lanes, Stoke Newington. He left an estate valued at £1,610 5s.
Emma Mary Ann Mizon [nee Bolton] (c.1856 – 21 February 1938)
Emma was born in Cambridge and was the daughter of Thomas and Charlotte Bolton. She was baptised at St Paul’s Church on 28th September 1856. She grew up on Union Road, and her father was a furniture remover. Thomas Bolton founded Bolton Brothers Removals, which continued trading until the 1930’s when it was sold.
She was widowed in 1896 aged 40 years old. She remained at 89 Amber Road until c1907. By 1911Emma had returned to Cambridge and was living at 79 Mawson Road, and was living there with her children Maud, Lilian and George. She continued to live at 79 Mawson Road and died there in 1939 aged 81 years old.
Maud Bolton Mizon (21 December 1885- 7 September 1956)
Maud was the daughter of Emma and Francis Mizon. She was baptised on 19th January 1890 at St Thomas Church in Finsbury Park. Her father died when she was ten years old. She lived with her mother and siblings at 79 Mawson Road. In 1911 she is not recorded as having an occupation. In 1939 she was living at 79 Mawson Road, with two lodgers.
Maud never married and was living at 9 St Pauls Road in Cambridge in 1956. She died in Margate in September 1956 – possibly she was visiting her sister Lilian who had married and was living in Kent at the time. She left an estate valued at £1,468 7s and 6d.
