Robert Henry Moden (27 April 1864 – 15 January 1943)

Robert was the son of Robert and Emma (née Reynolds) Moden. His father was a baker and he grew up at 16 & 17 City Road (1871/1881) and 19 Mill Road (1891). He worked as a printer/compositor and married Ann Cardinal in 1895. The couple had two children: Robert Cardinal (1896-1981) and Ann Dorothy (1902-1984). Robert worked at the Cambridge Unversity Press and the family lived at 28 Bradmore Street. By 1939 he had retired and died at Mill Road Infirmary aged 77 years old.

Ann Dorothy Moden (née Cardinal) (1 October 1864 -27 February 1945)

Ann was the daughter of Thomas and Ann (née Stapleton)  Cardinal. Her father was a currier, and her mother worked as a college servant. Before her marriage to Robert Moden, Ann was working as a dressmaker. Ann died at Chesterton Hospital in February 1945.
