Sidney Frederick North (30 December 1885 – 28 September 1944)

Sidney was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth North and was born in Cambridge.  He grew up at 38 North Street, and his father worked as a grocer’s porter.  He married Annie Line in 1909 when he was 24 years old.

Sidney and Annie had at least four children: Annie Phyllis [1909-2004], Florence Millicent [1911-1998], Edgar Frederick [1913-1990] and Sidney Norman [1915-1980].

In 1911 the family were living at 32 Albert Street in Spalding, and Sidney was working as a pastry cook and confectioner.  They appears to have moved back to Cambridge later that year, as daughter Florence Millencent was born in Cambridge in July 1911.

In 1939 Annie and Sidney were living at 53 St Philips Road and Sidney was working as a baker and confectioner.  He died at home in 1944 aged 58 years old.

Annie North [nee Lines] (24 February 1878 – 1 February 1950)

Annie was born in Chittern Green in Bedfordshire and was the daughter of Phineas and Harriett Lines.  She grew up in Kimpton in Hertfordshire, and her father was originally a straw plaiter [1881] and later a blacksmith [1891].  Aged 22 she was working as a general domestic servant to the Booth family in Luton. She was 31 years old when she married Sidney North.

She continued to live at 53 St Philips Road after being widowed, and died there aged 71 years old.
