Thomas Peach (c.1798 – 26 October 1876)
Thomas was the son of Robert and Catherine Peach. He was born in Liddington in Rutland, and baptised there on 18th November 1798. He married Martha Dixon in Great Bowden in Leicestershire on 16th February 1825 when he was 26 years old.
Thomas and Martha had at least nine children: Martha [1826-1845], Sophia [1827-1905], Lucy Anne [1828-1907], Elizabeth [1830-1915], Charles [1835-], Dixon [1837-1872], George [1838-1840], Catherine [1840-1849] and George [1844-1857]. Their first four children were born in Market Harborough, and their last five in Cambridge suggesting they moved to the city in the early 1830’s. In 1841 they were living on Petty Cury, and Thomas was a grocer.
By 1861 Thomas was the butler at St John’s College and in 1861/1871 the family were living at 1 All Saint’s Passage. Thomas died at 49 Bridge Street aged 77 years old. He left an estate valued at under £3,000.
George Peach ( 1838 – 5 October 1840)
George was the seventh child of Thomas and Martha Peach. He died aged 2 years old.
Martha Peach (c.1826 – 22 May 1845)
Martha was born in Market Harborough and was the eldest child of Thomas and Martha Peach. In 1841 she was 15 years old and a pupil at Mary Sutton’s school on St Andrew’s Street. She died on 22 May 1845 aged 19 years old and was buried at Mill Road on the 28th of May.
Catherine Peach (c.1840 – 28 August 1849)
Catherine was the daughter of Thomas and Martha Peach. She was baptised at St Mary the Great on 16th July 1840. She was brought up on Petty Cury where her father was a grocer. She died aged 9 years old in 1849.
George Peach (c.1844 – 22 May 1857)
George was the youngest child of Thomas and Martha Peach. He was baptised at All Saint’s Church on 21st May 1845. He died at All Saints Passage in May 1857 aged 13 years old.
Dixon Peach (c.1837 – 8 August 1872)
Dixon was born in Cambridge. He was admitted to Emmanuel College on 3rd July 1856, obtinained his BA in 1860 and his MA in 1864. He became a teacher and was assistant Master at the Royal Grammar School in Guildford in 1861 and at St John’s School in Leatherhead in 1866. He died at Great Yarmouth aged 35 years old, and was buried on the 10th August at Mill Road Cemetery. He was the last surviving son of Thomas and Martha Peach.
Martha Peach [nee Dixon] left Cambridge after the death of her husband Thomas. She lived in Lambeth with her daughter Elizabeth  and then in Farnham in Surrey with her daughter Lucy . She died in Farnham in November 1893 aged 88 years old and is buried at St Peter’s Church in Wrecclesham.
