Charles Peachey (7 February 1851 – 16 April 1917)
Charles was born in Fen Ditton. It is believed he was the son of Edward and Lucy Peachey. In 1861 he was living in Swaffham Prior with his parents – Edward Peachey was a pensioner at that time. By 1881 Charles had moved to Cambridge and was a lodger at 4 Brunswick Cottages, and working as a college cook.
He married the widow Anna Thayne Howes at St Andrew the Great on 30th September 1883 when he was 32 years old. When he married he was living on Paradise Street. Charles and Anna did not have any children together . He worked as a college cook at Pembroke College. They lived at 51 City Road and at 11 Guest Road from at least 1901 onwards. He died at 11 Guest Road aged 66 years old.
Anna Thayne Peachey [nee Howes] (13 September 1843 – 10 October 1923)
Anna was born in West Somerton in Norfolk and baptised there on 26th September 1843. Her parents were George and Sophia Howes. George Howes was a carpenter and employed six men. By the age of 16 Anna had moved to Cambridge and was living with her sister Mary Ann and her family and working as a milliner.
She married Thomas Whybro at the age of 22. Anna and Thomas had four children: Harry [1867-1905], Edgar [1869-1930], Edith Ann [1870-1945] and Ernest [1872-1941]. They lived at Little Shelford and Thomas worked as a carpenter. Thomas died at the end of 1877, leaving Anna a widow. She then appears to have moved to the city, and was living at 22 Earl Street in 1881 working as a college bedmaker. She married for a second time in 1883 when she was 40 years old.
When Charles died in 1917 it is believe that she moved to Lincoln. She died at 183 Monks Road in Lincoln aged 80 years old. She left an estate valued at £1,319 18s 6d.
