Thomas Peck (1894 – 30 April  1936)

Thomas was the son of John Robert Peck and Hannah (née Talbot) and was born in Cambridge. His father was a sexton/grave digger and he grew up at  79 Norfolk Street. Aged 17 he was working as a tailor’s apprentice. He married Ellen King on 7 February 1925 at St. Matthew’s Church and they had at least one daughter: Dorothy Ellen (1925-2011). The family lived at 142 Tenison Road (1925) 105 Russell Street (1929-1931), 33 Mawson Road (1932) and then 37 Bradmore Street (at least 1936 onwards)  and Thomas died aged 42 years old.

Ellen Emily Peck (née King) (24 July 1897 – 13 August 1969)

Ellen was the daughter of James William King (1872-1950) and Frances Rebecca Cornell (1871-1966 )and grew up on the High Street in Cherry Hinton. Her father worked as a drayman for a brewery and her mother took in laundry. She married Thomas Peck when she was 27 years old.  After she was widowed Ellen lived at 37 Bradmore Street (1939 to at least 1949), 11 Romsey Road (at least 1952- 1964).
