John Porter (1847 – 28 March 1913)

John was born in Shouldham, Norfolk.  He married Martha Ludman in 1869.  In 1871 the couple were at the Bulls Tap, Queens Lane where John was a publican.  In 1881 he was at 9 Mill Lane, where he ran a Billiard Room.  He ran the Billiard Room there for over 30 years until his death in 1913 aged 64 years.

Martha Porter [nee Ludman]  (1846- 30 April 1916)

Martha was born in Newnham, and was the daughter of William and Jane Ludman.  Her father was a gardener.  She married John Porter when she was 23 years old.   They had two children together Jane [1869-1888] and John Edward [1880-].

Martha died in Wandsworth London, whilst she was presumably living with John Edward and his wife Keziah.  John Edward had followed his father’s line of business and was a billiard marker in London.

Jane Porter (1869 – 5 December 1888)

Jane was the eldest child of John and Martha Porter.  She was born in Cambridge, and lived first on Queens Lane and then Mill Lane.  She died aged 19 years.
