Thomas Henry Prime (1829 – 13 February 1890)

Thomas was the son of carpenter John Prime and Anne and was baptised on 22 February 1829. In 1851 he was living at Union Road with his parents and siblings and was also working as a carpenter. He married Sarah Turner in 1851 and they had at least six children: Henry Alfred (1853-1930), Frederick John (1856-1944), Nelly Sophia (1858-1950), Annie Elizabeth (1861-1944), Ernest George (1864-1928) and Thomas Edgar (1870-1957). The family lived at 27 Burleigh Street and in 1871 Thomas was noted as a master carpenter employing 3 people. By 1881 he was a builder employing 10 people and died at Burleigh Street aged 61 years old.

Sarah Prime (née Turner) (1829-16 February 1908)

Sarah was born in Cambridge and before marrying Thomas Prime was working as a cook for Eleanora Westlake at 39 Hills Road. After being widowed she lived at 25 Burleigh Street with daughter Annie and son Thomas, and another son Ernest lived next door at 27 Burleigh Street – both sons were builders. She died aged 78 years old.
