Hazel Miriam Mearl Rolfe (1923 – 19 May 1928)
It is believed that Hazel was the daughter of Charles and Caroline. She died in Cambridge aged 4 years old.
Charles Rolfe (12 February 1891 – 9 June 1958)
Charles was the son of James and Susan and grew up on St. Matthew’s Street where his father was a fishmonger. Aged 20 he was living at home and working as a cycle maker in a cycle factory. He married Carrie Orriss in 1919 and in 1930 the couple were living at 80 Norfolk Street. By 1939 they were living at 8 St. Matthew’s Street where Charles was documented as being a cycle agent and repairer. He died at St. Matthew’s Street aged 67 years old.
Caroline (Carrie) Esther Rolfe (née Orriss) (24 April 1887 – 3 October 1971)
Carrie was the daughter of William and Matilda, sister of Frank and grew up at 111 East Road. Her father was a labourer and aged 20 Carrie was working as a ‘shop girl’ in a cafe. She married aged 32 years old and continued to live at St, Matthew’s Street after she was widowed. She died at home aged 84 years.
