In 1871 he was employing one man and two boys and still living at Green Street with son George and Fanny Turman (housekeeper).  By 1881 just he and daughter Annie were living at Green Street, and she was acting as his housekeeper.  By 1891 they had both moved to Victoria Road and the census describes him as a ‘cork manufacturer’.  He died aged 58 years old.
