Robert Rutter (1819- 5 February 1892)

Robert was the son of Robert and Susan and was baptised on 21 February 1819 at St. Giles’ Church.  He married Caroline Maskell in 1843 and they had at least six children: Susanna Johnson (1845-1898), Emma (1848-), Laura (1849-1926), Julia Drew (1851-), Annie Caroline (1856-) and Caroline Maskell (1862-1955).

Robert worked as a  journeyman carpenter and the family lived at  5 Albert Street (1861), 7 Tennis Court Terrace (1871), 65 Sidney Street (1881) and then 5 Albert Street again (1891). He died at home in February 1892.

Caroline Johnson Rutter  (née Maskell) (1818 – 22 February  1892)

Caroline was the daughter of Thomas and Susan and was baptised on 1 November 1818 at St. Mary the Less Church.  She died four days after her husband.

5 Albert Street was sold at auction in March 1892 and was described as a brick building with slate room ‘ 2 living rooms, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and w.c. with large garden at back’.
